| John 20:18: Mary Magdalene came, announcing to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and that He had said these things to her. |
Historically
Mary of Magdala (Once called Miram) was and is considered one of the greatest women involved in the movement of Jesus, and was with him throughout his ministry, all the way until the end. She, as well as two others, were the first to see him after his resurrection. She is "the apostle to the apostle" and was a leader in the early movement. Luke described her as the one for whom seven demons were called out of, though, throughout the ages, she was once called a whore.
This is not true.

Modernity
Two thousand years pass, two thousand years and a religion is born, grows and reaches nearly every corner of the continent. With the turn of the century, she is raised to write her own gospels. Her own memories and story of her friend, her confidant, and a man whom she loved. This did not take long, as her own words were not written, re-written and placed into poetry as the other gospels became. Her words were simple, and true. She wrote of Joshua bar Joseph, called Jesus by the Greeks. She wrote of his miracles, of his teachings... and watching him be tried. And murdered. Once this was achieved she was let out into the world. Given the thirty pieces of Judas' silver, and the memories of a life long since passed, she lives in 2009. It's a bit much to take in, but she'll manage, and survive. Besides, looking around? She's just glad one of the suggestions for their names (Bacon Boys) did not take off in Lieu of Christian.
